Top 10 on Google Plus Investment Tips

Hello again!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted. Politics has taken somewhat of a backseat now that the election is over, although there’s still much discussion to be had. I just haven’t found much of it to be interesting at this time. Besides that, I’ve been preparing for my return to college, so there have been a lot of last minute things I needed to take care of.

I’ve taken this time to invest in the stock market. The stock market had hit yet another low, and I’m taking advantage of the bear market that it is right now so that when the market recovers, I’ll be in good shape. Currently I’m invested in Google and Apple, so we’ll see how that turns out. Right now they are well, well below where they were a year ago, and I can only hope that their stocks go back to their previous levels eventually. Wish me luck.

I found a nice site for those interested in starting to invest. I know I’m new to it, and I think you’ll find it to be a useful guide. The site is called Investing First Steps.

Again, have a look, as you might find some new tips you just haven’t seen, and it looks to be a good resource for new investors.

Another thing I wanted to mention is that this blog is once again on the top 10 listings of Google for the keyword “Youth Politics”. This is great news, as it had been in the top 10 before but then disappeared for a little while.

If you have any investment tips for me or know of any good sites, let me know. I could definitely use the help!

Quick Friday November 7th Update

Yes I haven’t posted in several days, yes I’ll get around to it. I guess after the election I’ve been idling about, although there is plenty to talk to about now that the election is over.

As a quick update, I have added to the sidebar the top commentators of the blog as of this month. From now on those who have the most comments will be featured there as well as the number of comments from each person. While I do not expect it to encourage anyone to comment, I’ve put it up as a reward in case anyone decides to do so. Just giving back to the community is all.

Tomorrow I want to talk about proposition 8. You know, the one in California. I should read up more about it….

Short Updates

If you have a political blog and are looking for a spot on my Awesome Political Blogs list, then leave a comment or send me an email at crowtche@juniorpolitics.com. I’m looking to have about eight blogs, so let me know. There are a few I’m already considering anyhow.

Oh, also, if you miss the Political News section I used to have on the sidebar, please tell me. I felt it made the sidebar way too cluttered and didn’t think anyone used it anyway.

This is sort of just an updates post, and later I’ll be talking about why you suck at fact checking. Yes, you. Me too, but mostly you : )

Obama Rally And Updates

I live in Virginia, and as such, both presidential candidates come to the state a LOT. Now, I have not been to any of the rallies, but I’ve finally been paying enough attention to attend an Obama rally being held relatively close to my house.

At this rally, I will be looking for two things:

1. I want to see what Obama has to say at a speech that will not be televised. Then I can come out of it with some sort of an impression.

2. I want to know what the supporters think and how they act. McCain rallies have been getting a lot of flak recently, so I want to get a sense for how it is on the other side.

I will of course comment on the rally, so stay tuned for that. For those who have never been to an Obama rally you’ll get to hear an account of what it’s like. Will I be cheering? Well, I’ll clap when appropriate. And I don’t normally hoot or holler anyway.

I’m going to be updating the blogroll by adding more significant links than the ones currently. I’ve got a few in mind already, but if you would like to be placed on the blogroll and your blog is actually relevant, leave a comment below or email me at crowtche@juniorpolitics.com and I’ll see to the possible inclusion of your blog. I’m shooting for about ten blogs.

I also notice that people are having a hard time commenting simply because they cannot figure out where to comment. This is due to me having the most recent post on the front page, which is NOT the blog itself. I’ll find a way of getting comments working on the main page, or at least putting a link that’s easy to follow.

Comment Submission Problem

I am aware that errors show up when submitting a comment. I am working on fixing the problem. Be assured that your comment is being submitted and does show up, and if you hit the back button on your browser you should see your comment posted. I’ll post an update when I fix this problem. Thanks.

UPDATE: The comment issue has been fixed. A plugin known as WP-Tree was causing the problem. Unfortunately its deactivation has caused the categories to look messy. This will be cleaned up as soon as possible. Sorry for the inconvenience.
